Job Description
POSITION: TRANSPORTATION MANAGER - SUPPLY CHAIN / LOGISTICS DEPARTMENT
- Work location: District 4 - HCMC
- Working time: Monday - Friday
MAIN DUTIES:
Manage the transportation department to effectively deliver cement to both customers and between plant / terminals; Inter-Unit transferring raw materials, solid fuels, semi-finished products, and finished products.
1. Deliver cement to customers. Making internal transfer of cement and Raw Materials from plant to Terminals / shipping points and vice versa
- Contribute and add value to supply chain function.
- Constantly interact and communicate with peers and other departments to achieve all objectives.
2. Manage transporters to ensure cost efficiency and safety. Sourcing, planning, controlling, scheduling fleet
- Optimize transportation cost in order to add value to company’s business
- Systematically analyse transport portfolio.
- Benchmark against other local industries and propose optimal solution.
3. Ensure transportation safety
- Ensure all transport vendors to be contractually obligated with company safety standard.
- Enforce compliance of transport vendors to company policy by regular audit and communication.
- Inspection of trucks / barges & vendors’ businesses
4. Continuously improving the processes and tools for higher efficiency
- Communicate and build relationship effectiveness
- Transportation market intelligence.
- Build transportation capacity for company strategic growth.
- Efficiently manage transporters.
5. Orient business qualification relate to logistics activities
- Implement annual transport budget
Job Requirement
1. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
• University or higher level educated
• A suitable third level technical or business-oriented qualification related to logistics activities.
• University degree preferred from prominent institution.
2. RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
• At least 5-year experience of supervising a logistics department on both inbound and outbound commodity flows. Proven leadership and inter- personal skills is a must, using proven prior experience of at least there years in a leadership position.
• >3 year experience in team management (leadership skill)
• Proactive, team-oriented mindset required.
